SPORT: Baseball TEAM: Yankees POSITION: Right field INDUCTED: 2001 (84.5%, 1st year on ballot) CAREER: 1973-1995 IN NY: 1981-1990 Winfield was a 12-time All-Star, seven-time Gold Glove winner and six-time Silver Slugger who finished in the top 20 of MVP voting nine times. A .283 hitter with a .353 OBP and 465 home runs in 22 seasons, he led the NL with 118 RBIs, 333 total bases and 24 intentional walks in 1979. Winfield went 1-for-22 as the Yankees lost the 1981 World Series to the Dodgers. His lack of postseason success prompted Yankees owner George Steinbrenner to brand Winfield “Mr. May” in a 1985 interview. Winfield later won a World Series with the Blue Jays in 1992 and totaled 3,110 career hits.

SPORT: Baseball TEAM: Yankees POSITION: Catcher, outfield INDUCTED: 1972 (85.6%, 2nd year on ballot) CAREER: 1946-1963, 1965 IN NY: 1946-1963 Yankees, 1964 Mets Lawrence Peter “Yogi” Berra, a 10-time World Series winner with the Yankees, was selected to 18 All-Star games and won the AL MVP award in 1951, 1954 and 1955. He hit .285 with a .348 on-base percentage and 358 home runs in 19 seasons and never struck out more than 38 times in a season. Berra batted .274 with a .359 OBP and 12 home runs in 75 World Series games.

DiMaggio was the American League MVP in 1939, 1941 and 1947, won AL batting titles in 1939 and 1940, won nine World Series and was picked for 13 All-Star Games. DiMaggio batted .325 with a .398 on-base percentage and 361 home runs. He twice led the AL in home runs and led MLB with 46 in 1937. DiMaggio missed three seasons from 1943-1945 due to military service. He never struck out more than 39 times.
