An eight-time Pro Bowler, he attempted 63 passes, completed 29 and threw 14 touchdowns. In 1956, Gifford won an NFL title with the Giants and was named NFL MVP.

He led the league with 206 attempts, 830 yards and 69.2 yards per game in 1936. He completed 167 of 383 passes and tossed 25 touchdowns and 32 interceptions. A two-time Pro Bowler, Leemans won a championship with the Giants in 1938 and was a first-team All-Pro in 1939.
