SPORT: Baseball TEAM: Giants POSITION: Right field INDUCTED: 1972 (by the Veterans Committee) CAREER: 1917-1926 IN NY: 1917-1926 Royce Middlebrook “Pep” Youngs played as Ross Young. He hit .322 with a .399 OBP and 42 home runs in 10 seasons, leading the NL with 31 doubles in 1919 and 121 runs in 1923. Young finished fifth in the 1924 NL MVP race, hitting .356 with a .441 OBP and 10 home runs. He hit .286 in four World Series with the Giants, winning two, in 1921 and 1922.
