Filler: Same sex marriage decision expands liberty
Alabama’s Chief Justice Roy Moore says federal law doesn’t trump state law. That sounds frighteningly familiar, doesn’t it?
There will be some continued resistance from the right, but with the Supreme Court’s refusal to hear some states’ appeals, same-sex marriage is now pretty much cemented as an irrefutable right. Opponents keep saying “The People” should decide the matter. That’s correct. Gay Americans are people, and now they can decide for themselves.
