SPORT: Baseball TEAM: Robins (Dodgers) POSITION: Left field INDUCTED: 1959 (by Veterans Committee) CAREER: 1909-1927 IN NY: 1909-1913 with the Superbas, 1914-1926 with the Robins Wheat was a .317 hitter with a .367 OBP and 132 home runs in 19 seasons for the Brooklyn Superbas, Brooklyn Robins and Philadelphia Athletics. He led the NL with a .461 slugging percentage in 1916 and a .335 average in 1918. Wheat finished in the top-15 of NL MVP voting three times. He hit .283 in two World Series, losing both.
