BACKGROUND

  • Lauri, 61, of Port Jefferson, is running on the Republican and Conservative party lines in the general election.
  • In February, Lauri became a District Court judge in the 6th District of the Suffolk County District Court System, after he was appointed to fill a vacancy on the bench by Suffolk County Executive Edward P. Romaine.
  • Prior to his appointment, Lauri worked as an attorney practicing real estate law at the law offices of John J. Andrews in Port Jefferson for 20 years. He worked part time at the law firm for nine years while working as an attorney for the Town of Brookhaven.
  • Lauri graduated in 1985 with a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Binghamton, and earned his law degree from St. John’s University School of Law in 1988. He was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1989.
