BACKGROUND
- Tanenbaum, 59, of Port Jefferson, is running on the Republican and Conservative party lines in the general election.
- He has been a Suffolk County District Court judge since Feb. 2024.
- Tanenbaum was the principal law clerk to Suffolk County District Administrative Judge Andrew A. Crecca from August 2017 to January 2024.
- He has 24 years of experience in private practice in the general practice of law in District Court, Family Court, Supreme Court, Surrogate’s Court and the appellate courts.
- Tanenbaum was the Town of Islip’s assistant town attorney from February 2006 to October 2012 and an assistant county attorney in the Suffolk County Attorney’s oOffice from 1994 to 1997.
- He received his undergraduate degree from Lehigh University in 1986 and his law degree from Syracuse University College of Law in 1990. He was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1991.
