Joseph C. Pastoressa is running for New York State Supreme Court Justice
BACKGROUND
- Pastoressa, 67, of St. James, is a registered Conservative and is running on the Democratic, Republican and Conservative party lines in the general election.
- He has been a justice on the Supreme Court since 2012, a position to which he was elected in 2011.
- Pastoressa was appointed a New York Court of Claims judge assigned to sit on the Supreme Court from 2004 to 2011.
- Prior to that, he worked in private practice and was a principal law clerk for several judges, including Appellate Division, Second Department Justice Gloria Goldstein.
- Pastoressa earned his law degree from Brooklyn Law School in 1983 and was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1984.
