Janine Barbera-Dalli is running for New York State Supreme Court Justice
Barbera-Dalli, 55, of St. James is running on the Conservative Party line. She was elected in November 2012 to the Suffolk County District Court, where since January 2014, she has been a judge in First District Court. She was judge for the Sixth District Court in Patchogue and Fourth District Court in Hauppauge from January 2013 to December 2014. Barbera-Dalli was a founding partner of the firm Barbera & McElhone PC from 1996 to 2012. She received her undergraduate degree from Hofstra University in 1983, and received her law degree from St. John’s University School of Law in 1986. Barbera-Dalli was admitted to the New York State Bar, Second Department in 1987. She was also admitted to the bars of the Eastern District of New York in 1990; United States Court of Appeals, Second Circuit in 2004 and the Federal Claims Court in 2004; United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces in 2004; and the United States Supreme Court in 2004. She is a member of the American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, Suffolk County and Nassau County bar associations, Suffolk County Women’s Bar Association, and Divorce Mediation Association. She wrote and published “Braving the Divorce Maze and Winning” in 2008.
