BACKGROUND:
- Calone, 50, of Setauket, is running for Suffolk County executive.
- Calone, the CEO of a private equity firm, is a former state and federal prosecutor.
- He graduated from Princeton University and Harvard Law School.
ISSUES:
- On public safety, Calone said he would ensure “robust staffing levels across county law enforcement departments, and give our professionals the best tools, training and technology they need.”
- Affordable living is a top concern for Calone, who said he would work to eliminate wasteful spending in the county budget and hold the line on taxes.
- He said the environment is a priority and that he would work to invest in wastewater treatment technology, storm resiliency and green energy.
