- Bednar, 54, of Rockville Centre, is a registered Democrat and is running on the Democratic, Republican and Conservative party lines in the general election.

- She has been a principal law clerk for the Hon. Jerome C. Murphy in the Nassau County Supreme Court, Commercial Division since 2022.
- She was senior principal law clerk in the Appellate Division, Second Department to the Hon. Leonard B. Austin from 2009 to 2022, and his principal law clerk in Nassau County Supreme Court from 2008 to 2009.
- Bednar graduated in 1993 from the University of Notre Dame and earned a law degree from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in Manhattan in 1996. She was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1997.
