- Since 2016, he has been an acting State Supreme Court justice and a Nassau County Court judge.
- Sturim received his undergraduate degree from the New York Institute of Technology in 1987, and earned his law degree from Hofstra University School of Law in 1990. He was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1992.
