BACKGROUND:
- Fischer, 53, of Oyster Bay Cove, is running on the Democratic, Republican, and Conservative party lines in the general election.
- She has been a Nassau County District Court judge since 2008 and has served as an acting County Court judge since 2015. Previously, Fischer served as a supervising attorney and deputy bureau chief for the Nassau County Attorney’s Office from 2001 to 2007.
- From 1998 to 2001, she was Nassau County Executive Tom Gulotta’s liaison to the Nassau County Legislature.
- She was a deputy county attorney in the Nassau County Attorney’s Office from 1996 to 1998 and worked as an associate in the law firm Novak & Associates from 1995 until 1996.
- Fischer graduated from the State University of New York at Oneonta in 1990 and received her juris doctor from the Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 1993.
- She was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1994.
