BACKGROUND:
- Gugerty, 59, of Bayville, is running on the Democratic, Republican, and Conservative party lines in the general election.
- She was elected a Nassau County Court judge in 2012 and is an acting Supreme Court justice since 2013.
- Previously, she was a principal law clerk to Justice Jeffrey S. Brown of the Nassau Supreme Court from 2008 to 2013. She worked in the law office of Richard M. Gutierrez from 1995-2008, a general litigation firm concentrating on personal injury, real estate and criminal defense.
- Gugerty was also was a staff attorney for The Legal Aid Society from 1988-1994.
- Gugerty received her bachelor's degree from the University at Albany in 1985 and graduated from St. John's School of Law in 1988.
- She was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1989.
