Bergmann, 60, of Speonk, is running on the Democratic, Republican, Conservative, Independence and Reform party lines in the general election. She has been a principal law clerk for Judge Stephen Lynch in the New York State Court of Claims since January 2013. Before that, she was in private practice from 1990 through 2012. She was a Suffolk County assistant county attorney from 1988-1990. She was an academic adviser and adjunct professor for C.W. Post from 1981 to 1984. Prior to that, she was a grants administrator for Suffolk County Community College from 1979 to 1981. She received her undergraduate degree from SUNY Oswego in 1978, a master’s degree in public administration from C.W. Post in 1981, and her law degree from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 1988. She was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1989. She is a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association, the Suffolk County Women’s Bar Association and Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York.
