- Carlton, 69, of Valley Stream is running on the Democratic, Republican and Conservative party lines in the general election.
- He was appointed to Nassau County District Court judge, 2nd District, in April 2019 and elected to the position in November 2019.
- He was a practicing founding partner in the personal injury law firm of Goldberg & Carlton in Rockville Centre from 1984 through 2019.
- From 2010-2019, he served as a deputy attorney for the Village of Valley Stream.
- Carlton received his undergraduate degree from George Washington University in 1976 and earned his law degree from Albany Law School of Union University in 1979.
- He was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1980 and the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York in that year as well.
