TINA M. POSTERLI
Democratic
BACKGROUND:
- Posterli, 57, of Long Beach, was elected to the city council in 2021 and is seeking a second term.
- She is managing director of communications for the Washington, D.C.-based National Skills Coalition.
- She served on the Long Beach Public Schools Board of Education from 2018 to 2021, the last year as president, and was also a member of the school district’s equity, policy and wellness committees.
ISSUES:
- Posterli said she “engaged residents and departments in a budgeting process that resulted in a 0% operational tax increase for 2023-2024.” She said the actual tax hike, 9.97%, is the result of a $5.5 million settlement the city must pay developer Sinclair Haberman.
- She said she has focused “on investments in infrastructure, combined with the newly enacted comprehensive plan, to lay the groundwork for the future of Long Beach as a resilient, cultural arts and transit-oriented city where all our residents and businesses can thrive.”
