BACKGROUND
- Montefinise, 32, of Oceanside, is running on the Republican and Conservative party lines and is making his first bid for public office.
- Montefinise is the deputy county attorney in the Municipal Transaction Bureau for the Office of the Nassau County Attorney.
- He earned an associate degree in 2013 from Nassau Community College, and a bachelor’s degree in 2015 from Hofstra University. Montefinise received his law degree in 2020 from the City University of New York School of Law.
 
ISSUES
- Montefinise said he would work to repeal changes to bail law and make changes to discovery law, which requires the prosecution to certify a case ready for trial within a limited and rigid timeline.
- He said he would focus on making the state and Long Island more affordable and growing the economy, repeal congestion pricing and support small businesses.
- Montefinise also said he would work to end the migrant sanctuary state laws and policy.
