Siela A. Bynoe is running for New York State Senator - 6th District
BACKGROUND
- Bynoe, 57, of Westbury, was elected to the Nassau County Legislature in a 2014 special election. She is serving her fifth full term representing the 2nd Legislative District and is the alternate deputy minority leader.
- She is principal of Acclaim Management Strategies, which provides consultation and strategic planning services to municipalities and private development corporations.
- She has an associate degree from Nassau Community College, and in 2001 graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Hofstra University and in 2006 earned a master’s degree in public administration from LIU Post.
 
ISSUES
- Bynoe said that if elected she would push for increased access to health care while protecting women’s rights and reducing maternal mortality rates.
- Bynoe said she would work to fully fund Long Island’s public schools and expand after-school programming and career training opportunities.
- She said she also would support the expansion of programs that deepen trust between law enforcement and communities.
