- He has been a partner in the law firm McGreevy & Henle LLP in Riverhead since 2005, specializing in civil and commercial litigation in Suffolk County.
- McGreevy was Southold Town Republican Committee chairman from December 2012 until he stepped down in February 2024.

He received his bachelor’s degree from Auburn University in Alabama in 1989 and his master’s degree from the university in 1996. McGreevy earned his law degree from Western New England University School of Law in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1996.

McGreevy was admitted to the New York State Bar, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York in 1997. He was admitted to the New Jersey State bar in 1996 and to the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey in 1996.
