KARIN B. CAMPBELL
Republican
BACKGROUND:
- Campbell, 63, of Westbury, is a former Westbury School Board trustee and president.
- Her experience includes work as a house manager of residential group homes and other facilities, and as an educator for Nassau BOCES, where she taught career and technical programs.
- During the coronavirus pandemic, she worked with homeless veterans and helped to find them temporary housing and secure PPE supplies.
ISSUES:
- Campbell said the county should offer residents in economically disadvantaged communities more housing, career training and schooling.
- She said she would support freezing property taxes and controlling county spending. Nassau's annual budget exceeds $4 billion.
- Building trust among Nassau residents, the county police department and local villages, towns and cities is a key priority, she said.
