JEFFREY BRAGMAN
Democrat
BACKGROUND:
- Bragman, 70, of East Hampton has served as a town councilman since 2018 and is challenging the incumbent supervisor on the Independence Party line.
- His town board seat expires at the end of the year.
- Bragman is a land-use attorney and has served as an adviser to various town land-use committees.
ISSUES:
- Bragman is running on a platform of transparency and improving ethics. "We could do a better job of inviting in the public and making sure that we listen," he said.
- Focusing on renewable energy is a top priority for Bragman, including a proposal known as Community Choice Aggregation, which would allow East Hampton to work with other towns to procure electricity for residents from renewable sources.
- Bragman said maintaining the community’s character is an important issue, such as restricting the size of new homes and providing housing opportunities for residents.
