BACKGROUND

  • Lynch, 59, of Stewart Manor, is running on the Democratic Party line in the general election.  
  • He served on the village’s board of trustees from 2009 to 2013. Lynch, a psychiatrist, has worked with New York City’s Mobile Crisis Team and in private practice.
  • He received his bachelor’s from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in upstate Troy and his doctor of medicine from Albany Medical College.

ISSUES

  • Lynch said he will strive to increase civility in Nassau County politics. “I want to give a better perspective of people here,” he said.
  • With community input, he said he wants to build housing and other infrastructure such as schools, sewers and electrical systems.
  • On health care, Lynch said he advocates increased accessibility to mental health providers and reproductive care. He said he also wants to make it easier for people to get treatment without fighting private insurance or, for instance, New York State Medicaid.
