Helen J. Rosenblum is running for Shelter Island Town Justice

Rosenblum, 71, of Shelter Island is running unopposed on the Democratic, Republican and Conservative party lines. She has been a town justice of Shelter Island since 2004 and also serves as a presiding justice of the East End Regional Intervention Court, which is a drug treatment court. She ran unopposed for town justice in the 2012, 2008 and 2004 elections. Rosenblum was appointed town justice by the town board in 2003. In addition to her judicial duties, she has been in private practice, specializing in matrimonial, wills and probate, and real estate since 1984 with offices in Riverhead and Southold. Rosenblum is also the attorney for the Shelter Island Fire District. Rosenblum served for 16 years as the town attorney for the Town of Shelter Island from 1986 to 2001. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in American studies from George Washington University in 1966 and earned her law degree at Fordham University School of Law in 1975. She was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1984. Rosenblum is a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association.
