Gregory P. Doroski
Gregory P. Doroski is running for Suffolk County Legislator, 1st District
BACKGROUND
- Doroski, 45, of Mattituck, is a registered Democrat running on the Democratic and Working Families party lines. He was elected to the Southold Town Board in 2021 after losing a bid for town supervisor in 2019.
- A beer brewer by trade, he helped start Greenport Harbor Brewing Company and is a deacon at First Presbyterian Church in Southold.
- He earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy from Drew University.

ISSUES
- Environmental protection, from stormwater mitigation measures, farmland preservation and water quality are key concerns, he said.
- Doroski said public safety is another priority and said part of his current role as a councilman is serving as a police commissioner and "really focusing on what it takes to keep our community safe."
- He said affordability and "lowering costs" is another priority while "protecting our tax dollars." He said that can be done by carefully spending tax money and ensuring the East End receives a fair share of sales tax and hotel-motel tax revenue.
