BACKGROUND
- Sillitti, 46, of Manhasset, is running on the Democratic Party line in the general election. She was elected to the Assembly in 2020 after five years as human resource director for the Nassau County Board of Elections.
- She worked for former Nassau Legis. Dave Mejias and held various jobs for the Town of North Hempstead.
- Sillitti graduated in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Georgia.
ISSUES
- Sillitti said she wants to combat the effects of climate change and aging infrastructure.
- She said she is committed to public safety and to supporting local fire departments, police officers and district attorneys.
- Sillitti said she believes in transparency and prioritizes being accessible for her residents. “I want people to be able to trust me and be comfortable with me,” she said.
