BACKGROUND:

• Bodenburg, 43, of Port Jefferson Station, is an administrator in the South Huntington school district.
• He is a former special education teacher in the district’s Walt Whitman High School. 
• He received an associate degree from Suffolk County Community College; a bachelor’s in special education and elementary education from the former St. Joseph’s College in Patchogue; a master’s in liberal studies from Stony Brook University; a certificate in education leadership from Stony Brook University; and a doctorate in education administration and supervision from St. John’s University.

ISSUES:

• Bodenburg said he wants to maintain safe and secure communities.
• He said he wants to ensure that ongoing projects such as traffic studies and a Route 25A corridor study are completed.
• He said it’s important to maintain roads and infrastructure, and make communities affordable.
