BACKGROUND:

Ross, 69, of Mattituck, is running on the Democratic and Working Family party lines in the general election.
He has been in private practice since 1982.
Ross was elected to the Southold Town Board in 2003 and served a 4-year term, ending his term in 2007.
He was the village attorney for Patchogue from June 1996 to April 2000 and the village attorney for Greenport from June 1991 to April 1994.
He earned a undergraduate degree from SUNY Cortland in 1976 and earned his law degree from Hofstra University Law School in 1982.
He was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1982.
