Stephen Ruth is running for New York State Senator - 2nd District

He said his main campaign issue is the red light camera program and fighting corruption. He said he would also like to see all county contracts publicized and how each of the legislators vote on them. “I expose what’s going on in the county, I expose the corruption. I exposed how they have shortened the yellow lights to steal our money,” he said. “I’m advocating for transparency and a comprehensive evaluation of where all the money goes from the red light camera program as well as our property taxes.”

Ruth, 43, of Centereach, is running on the Libertarian line. He is a licensed real estate broker, builder, and landlord. He is a Ward Melville High School graduate and attended Suffolk County Community College. He has one child. He is a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. This is his first run for office.
