Stephen K. Lynch | General Election - Nov. 7, 2017

Stephen K. Lynch is running for East Hampton town superintendent of highways

Stephen K. Lynch

Lynch said he wants to continue the initiatives he has overseen, including fixing drainage in flood-prone areas and redoing blacktop on major roads annually. He also wants to finish replacing sidewalks, which the department began undertaking about two months ago. “I just love this job,” he said. “I’m always looking for new ideas.”

Lynch, 56, is running unopposed on the Republican, Independent, Conservative and Democratic party lines. Before being elected highway superintendent in 2012, Lynch ran Stephen K. Lynch Contracting LTD, an excavation, construction and pool business, for 35 years. In addition to overseeing 26 highway department employees, Lynch oversees the sanitation department as the appointed director of public works. Lynch also is a volunteer firefighter with the East Hampton Fire Department and a member of the East Hampton Lions Club. The East Hampton Village native is married, with three children.
