Scott Davis
Scott Davis is running for Nassau County Legislator, 1st District
SCOTT DAVIS
Democratic
BACKGROUND:
- Davis, 61, lives in Rockville Centre and grew up in the Village of Hempstead.
- He is a graduate of SUNY Buffalo and Hofstra Law School.
- He is an attorney in private practice working on a range of matters, and runs his own firm in Queens.
ISSUES:
- Davis said the biggest concern facing local lawmakers “is keeping Nassau affordable” for residents so they can “stay here and live here.”
- He said he would keep an eye on plans to develop the Nassau Hub property to make sure new development does not have a negative impact on traffic and ensures employment opportunities for Hempstead residents. The roles must be substantial, he said — “not just sweeping the floor” — and give workers “an opportunity to move up into the company.”
- He said he would watch to make sure county tax revenue is spent wisely and that “what we’re collecting is implemented in a fiscally responsible and efficient way.”
