BACKGROUND

  • Schneider, 44, of Seaford, is running on the Republican and Conservative party lines in a special election. He was appointed in August to temporarily fill the seat after the July death of Councilman Christopher Carini, who was reelected to a second term in 2023. The winner will fill the remainder of the four-year term. 
  • Schneider is director of media relations for the Alzheimer's Foundation of America and was a former legislative aide in the Nassau County Legislature and the New York State Senate.  
  • He earned bachelor’s degrees in history and sociology, with an emphasis in criminal justice, from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

 

ISSUES

  • Schneider said that if elected he will focus on issues that affect residents’ quality of life.
  • He said he would continue mobile town halls that bring services to residents in different town districts.
  • Schneider said he would work with the town to offer training sessions on using Narcan, child safety seat checks and child ID programs.
