Christopher R. Schneider
Christopher R. Schneider is running for Council Member, Town of Hempstead, 5th District

BACKGROUND
- Schneider, 44, of Seaford, is running on the Republican and Conservative party lines in a special election. He was appointed in August to temporarily fill the seat after the July death of Councilman Christopher Carini, who was reelected to a second term in 2023. The winner will fill the remainder of the four-year term.
- Schneider is director of media relations for the Alzheimer's Foundation of America and was a former legislative aide in the Nassau County Legislature and the New York State Senate.
- He earned bachelor’s degrees in history and sociology, with an emphasis in criminal justice, from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
 
ISSUES
- Schneider said that if elected he will focus on issues that affect residents’ quality of life.
- He said he would continue mobile town halls that bring services to residents in different town districts.

Schneider said he would work with the town to offer training sessions on using Narcan, child safety seat checks and child ID programs.
