Richard J. Renna is running for Suffolk County Legislator, 14th District - Republican

Richard J. Renna

BACKGROUND

  • Renna, 33, of Lindenhurst, is deputy mayor of the Village of Lindenhurst. He was appointed to the board in 2017 and was then elected in three subsequent elections, most recently in 2024.
  • He graduated from Farmingdale State College in 2013 with a bachelor's degree in business.
  • Renna works for a marketing company, Appco Group USA, as director of client services. He started with the company in 2017, he said.

ISSUES

  • Renna highlighted clean water as a top priority and he hopes to support measures that protect the island's water at the county level.
  • He said public safety is another priority to help make sure the county police department and district attorney's office have the resources they need.
  • He said he's done a lot of work on economic development, and said the revitalization of downtown Lindenhurst is an area of expertise he can bring countywide. "Really honing in on that suburban life and making sure where we're keeping that is very important as well," he added.
