- Kassay, 34, of Port Jefferson, is a graduate of SUNY New Paltz. She said she has worked as a community organizer, environmental educator and small business owner.
- She is the deputy mayor of Port Jefferson Village.
- Kassay is the owner of The Fox and Owl Inn in Port Jefferson.
Issues:
- Addressing the cost of living is a top priority for Kassay. “I have been working to revive blighted commercial areas with the goal of supporting economic growth, creating local jobs, providing affordable housing, and bolstering the tax base,” she said.
- She would work to combat climate change by “planning for climate resilience, protecting open space, addressing flooding, and improving Long Island’s water quality.”
- Kassay said she would fight for accessible and affordable health care.
