BACKGROUND:
- Caracappa, 55, of Selden, the incumbent, is also running on the Conservative Party line.
- He was president of Local 393 Utility Workers Union of America and served as a trustee of the utility union’s national executive board.
- He was a Suffolk County Water Authority maintenance worker for 34 years, and served on the Middle Country Central School District Board of Education for seven years.
ISSUES:
- Caracappa has worked to appropriate money for sewer studies throughout his district and will continue to advocate for clean water and air protection.
- He also has worked to expand housing for veterans and those with disabilities.
- He worked with state lawmakers to implement a mandatory crash-site cleanup bill to keep roadways clear of accident debris.
