BACKGROUND:
- Giangregorio, 58, of Merrick, won a special election in February to fill a vacant seat in the 19th Legislative District and will run for reelection in the 12th District because of legislative redistricting.
- He is a vice president at J.P. Morgan in the Corporate & Investment Bank and a former volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America.
- Giangregorio, who has two adult sons, one of whom is on the autism spectrum, has advocated for autism programs and autism insurance reforms.
ISSUES:
- Giangregorio said he is committed to using his finance background to control government spending and freeze county taxes.
- He said he is focused on reducing hate crimes in the district and reducing quality-of-life crimes in the area.
- He said he plans to use his position to give a voice to the most vulnerable members of the community, including those with disabilities.
