Mazi Melesa Pilip is running for Nassau County Legislator, 10th District
BACKGROUND
- Pilip, 47, of Great Neck, is a registered Republican and is running on the Republican and Conservative party lines in the general election. She won her first election for the 10th District seat in 2021.

She has worked in her husband’s cardiology practice, where she directed operations. At 12, she immigrated to Israel with her family as part of Operation Solomon and later served in the Israel Defense Forces’ elite Paratrooper Brigade as a gunsmith.
- Pilip has a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of Haifa and a master’s degree in diplomacy and security from Tel Aviv University.
 
ISSUES
- Pilip said she will continue to hold the line on taxes.
- She said supporting first responders remains a priority, building on steps taken such as the hiring of new police officers and prosecutors, grant funding for fire departments and building a Police Training Village.
- Pilip said she will continue to address crime and rising antisemitic hate incidents, including increasing police and public safety patrols near houses of worship.
