BACKGROUND:
- Troche, 58, of Brentwood, is a senior production manager for a manufacturer of road marking materials. He supervises a team of 15 to 20 workers. He is also running on the Conservative Party line.
- He is a member of the board of directors of the Town of Islip Community Development Agency, which he says provides about $1 million in grants annually to assist residents with low and moderate incomes. He is also a volunteer firefighter.
- Troche attended Suffolk County Community College for one year, but did not complete his degree in criminal justice.
ISSUES:
- Troche says he plans to curb gangs and crack down on drug dealers.
- He pledges to help residents who are seeking assistance to become U.S. citizens and permanent residents.
- He promises to improve roads, parks and preserve open spaces in the Town of Islip.
