LAURIE A. ZANESKI
Republican
BACKGROUND:
- Zaneski, 57, of Aquebogue, is unopposed in seeking her third four-year term. She also is running on the Conservative line.
- She began working in the office in 2003 and was first appointed to the position in 2012 before being elected in 2015.
- She earned a bachelor’s from SUNY Stony Brook in psychology and sociology.
ISSUES:
- Zaneski said she will continue to seek to improve convenience, noting she has already modernized the office so bills are online, residents can pay directly and credit cards are accepted for payments.
- The office also handles water payments, and she noted it isn’t possible to set up automatic recurring payments from residents’ bank accounts because dollar amounts vary from quarter to quarter.
- The office is preparing for the move to the new town hall and is busy updating the billing address. Its three employees are full time.
