BACKGROUND
- Brown, 56, of Northport, is running on the Republican and Conservative party lines in the general election. He is seeking a third term in office.
- He is a former state assistant attorney general who now is a partner in a private law firm specializing in commercial real estate.
- Brown graduated from SUNY Albany in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in English and received his law degree from Touro Law School in 1994.
ISSUES
- Brown said environmental conservation is a priority and said his goals include addressing stormwater management, cleaning and dredging local harbors and fixing the Asharoken seawall.
- He said another priority is tackling the opioid fentanyl crisis to make it easier for families dealing with the issue to access services and help by integrating state mental health and addiction services.
- If reelected he said he will continue to work on making state government more efficient and on reducing the size of the state budget.
