  • Guthman, 53, lives in Melville and is seeking a second term.
  • Guthman won a special election in 2018 and a full-term election in 2019 after serving as an assistant district attorney for Suffolk County; lead attorney for Hempstead Village; deputy town attorney, special assistant district attorney, director of human services and equal employment opportunity officer for Huntington.
  • She graduated from Huntington High School, St. John’s University and Touro Law School.

  • Guthman is committed to making the process of paying property taxes streamlined with ease and efficiency while broadening and improving payment options and operating with the highest level of fiscal integrity.
  • Guthman supports equity for constituents and works to ensure residents have access to the resources and information they need. She helps them secure exemptions, including STAR, evaluating their tax burden and connecting them to financial and social programs.
