BACKGROUND
- Griffin, 61, of Rockville Centre, is running on the Democratic Party line in the general election. She represented the 21st Assembly District from 2019 to 2022. Her legislative appointments included legislative commissioner on the Future of LIPA.
- She was formerly director of community outreach and senior adviser to State Sen. Todd Kaminsky. Griffin was a sole proprietor of an integrative health and wellness coaching business.
- She graduated from SUNY Oneonta with a bachelor’s degree in business economics.
 
ISSUES
- Griffin said boosting the local economy, creating high-paying jobs, providing a pathway to prosperity, especially for young professionals and young families, and making Long Island more affordable are priorities. She said she would continue holding the line on taxes.
- Public safety is one of her top concerns. Griffin said she would continue efforts that addressed the opioid epidemic and the growing number of people living with mental health issues.
- She said she would advocate for the protection of reproductive rights.
