BACKGROUND
- McDonaugh, 55, of Lindenhurst, is running on the Democratic, Republican and Conservative party lines in the general election.
- He has been an acting County Court judge since January 2022, and a Suffolk County District Court judge for more than 12 years. He ran unopposed in the election for 2nd District Court judge in 2012 and was reelected in 2018.
- McDonaugh served as an acting County Court judge from 2016 to 2019. He was appointed to the District Court by Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone in 2012.
- He was a part-time associate village justice in the Village of Lindenhurst from 2009 to 2012.
- From 2001 to 2012, McDonaugh was a partner at the Lindenhurst law firm of Phillips, Weiner, Artura, Cox & McDonaugh.
- He received an undergraduate degree from SUNY Oneonta in 1991 and earned a law degree from the University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 1994. McDonaugh was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1995.
