BACKGROUND
- Sachs, 65, of Melville, is running on the Democratic and Conservative party lines in the general election.
- He was elected to the District Court bench in the 3rd District, Town of Huntington in 2018 and has been an acting Suffolk County Court judge since Jan. 1, 2021.
- Sachs is presiding judge of the DWI treatment court in Suffolk County.
- Sachs was an attorney in private practice from 1989 to 2018 specializing in DWI cases.
- From 1985 to 1989, he was the assistant district attorney for Bronx County.
- Sachs received his undergraduate degree from State University of New York at Albany in 1981 and earned his law degree from Brooklyn Law School in 1985. He was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1986 and the Eastern and Southern districts of New York in 1987.
