BACKGROUND:
- Goggin, 61, of Long Beach, is running on the Democratic, Republican and Conservative party lines in the general election.
- In June 2022, Goggin was appointed to the Nassau County Family Court by Gov. Kathy Hochul. Before that, she was a Nassau County District Court judge since 2017.
- From 2013 to 2016, she was a Long Beach City Council member. From January 2015 through December 2016, she worked in private practice representing FDNY and NYPD officers who were injured due to their 9/11 exposure and were fighting to receive their disability retirement pensions.
- From 2010 to 2014, she was principal law clerk for the Hon. Tammy S. Robbins.
- From 2003 to 2010, Goggin was deputy Nassau County attorney, and was Nassau County special prosecutor on animal abuse cases. She began her career at the Legal Aid Society.
- Goggin earned a bachelor's degree from Adelphi University in 1983, and law degree from Brooklyn Law School in 1988.
- She was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1989, and is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association.
