- Powers, 54, of Southold, is running on the Republican and Conservative party lines in the general election.
- Powers serves as a town justice for the Town of Southold since 2018.
- She has operated a private law practice in Riverhead since 2002 and has been the Belle Terre Village attorney since July 2006.
- Powers served as an assistant town attorney and the deputy town attorney for Southampton Town before being named the Southampton Town attorney, where she served from 2002 to 2005.
- Powers also was a prosecutor with the Suffolk County District Attorney�s Office, serving as the deputy bureau chief for the Major Crimes Bureau from June 1999 to December 2001 and as an assistant district attorney from August 1992 to October 1996.
- Powers received her law degree from St. John�s University School of Law in 1992.
