BACKGROUND: Lerose, 63, of Syosset, is running on the Republican, Conservative, Independence and Reform party lines in the general election. He is presiding judge of a Driving While Intoxicated part. He was elected as a judge in the Nassau County District Court, 4th District in November 2012. He was appointed to the same position by Former County Executive Edward Mangano and confirmed by the Nassau County Legislature in March 2012. He served as co-deputy bureau chief of the General Litigation Bureau of the Nassau County attorney’s office from 2010 to 2012. From 1984 to 2010, he was in private practice. During 14 years of this period, he also was general counsel to State Sen. Carl Marcellino (R-Syosset). He received his undergraduate degree from Adelphi University in 1977 and his law degree from New York Law School in 1983. He was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1984 and he is a former member of the Nassau and Suffolk County bar associations. He was a mentor to the Massapequa High School mock trial team from 2017 to 2018. In 1993 he was awarded New York State Bar Association’s Outstanding Young Lawyer.
