Debra S. Mule
Debra S. Mule is running for Nassau County Legislator, 6th District
DEBRA S. MULÉ
Democratic
BACKGROUND:
- Mulé, 61, of Freeport, is seeking a fourth term as county legislator and is also running on the Working Families line.
- She won her first term in 2017 after serving as a Freeport Village trustee for three years. She also spent nine years on the Freeport School Board, including two as president.
- She graduated from the College of William and Mary and has a master’s in social work from Virginia Commonwealth University.
ISSUES:
- As a result of recent sinkhole incidents along the county’s South Shore, Mulé has focused her attention on repairing the aging infrastructure, including water and sewer pipes.
- She is advocating for a permanent, qualified assessor who will “address the unfortunate degradation” of the county’s property tax assessment roll. She supports a new reassessment.
- She hopes to continue work in her district such as finishing major street revamping projects and the rehabilitation of the historic Kellogg House in Baldwin.
