Deborah E. Kooperstein

Kooperstein, 69, of Bridgehampton, is running on the Democratic, Republican, Conservative, Independence and Working Families party lines. She is the first woman to be elected Southampton Town justice, where she has served since 1993. Kooperstein also presides over the Regional East End Intervention Court for the past 13 years. She maintains a private practice specializing in real estate. Kooperstein received her undergraduate degree from New York University and her law degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. She was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1985. Kooperstein is the immediate past president of the Suffolk County Magistrates Association and belongs to the New York State Bar Association, Suffolk County Bar Association, Suffolk County Women’s Bar Association, NAACP, Irish-American Society and the League of Women Voters.
