Christopher S. Como is running for Town Clerk, Town of Babylon

Christopher S. Como

BACKGROUND

  • Como, 50, of North Babylon, is a registered Republican and is running on the Republican Party line in the general election.
  • He has a bachelor’s degree in political science from SUNY Plattsburgh and a law degree from Touro Law Center in Central Islip.
  • Como has been deputy county clerk for Suffolk County for the past 18 years.

ISSUES

  • Como said he wants to make the town clerk’s office more efficient, including by having more forms available online so that people don’t have to physically come into the office.
  • He said he wants to improve election integrity by cutting through layers of government and having the town report deaths directly to the local board of elections, rather than first to the state as is currently required, to cut down on voter fraud.
  • Como said he wants to develop a giveback program promoted by the clerk’s office that would encourage local businesses to offer discounts to seniors, veterans and first responders.
